PHOTOGRAPHY
on the 1s and 2s
When I lived in New York City, I took my film camera and went out after midnight to various parties. Under cover of darkness, I took pictures of cool kids dancing and deejays spinning records.
Then in the daytime, I spent hours in the darkroom developing my own prints. The images I shot the night before would appeared on Black & White photographic paper.
In addition to single exposures, my camera allowed me to make multiple exposures on a single frame. So I experimented with double exposures to create layered images inspired by the deejays who create layered soundtracks using two vinyl records.
